It's time for a little movie magic ... or a movie about magic, rather.
Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman (whew!) star in "Now You See Me," a crime thriller about a group of illusionists who manage to pull off Robin Hood-style heists during their stage shows, showering their audiences with the money amidst all the flashing lights and frenetic editing.
Not surprisingly, these "tricks" get the attention of the FBI, though the investigation becomes all the more complicated when the agents have to figure out what's real and what isn't ... and deal with the increasingly intolerable arrogant smart-ass that is Mark Zucker ... er, Jesse Eisenberg.
The premise is very cool. The trailer ... not so much. Really, Eisenberg is starting to wear out his welcome with the same condescending hipster routine he brings to every role, and it's high time Morgan Freeman played a character who isn't completely cool and in control at all times. Hopefully there's some actual tension to this film and it isn't just a series of scenes featuring super-sexy criminals making law enforcement officers look like fools.
